Training Tips

Developing a routine

Q: Hi, We got our 9-weeks min Bernedoodle this past Sunday. We have spent a lot of time with him and she is adjusting fairly well. Now, we need to start leaving him alone while we work starting this week with absences of about 4 hours. What is the recommended way to do this in the less stressful way possible for him?
A: Ideally you would have started by creating a routine that included alone time. If so there is really not much you need to do other than be sure he has the opportunity to eat, drink and eliminate before you leave. If you can include a vigorous play session that would be good. Leave some dry food and water with him. A four hour alone time is not to bad.
