Q: How long is an acceptable amount of time to leave a 10 week old puppy at night? Ideally I’d like to get to 8 hours, but I’m not sure if it’s ok to leave him for that long. He eats 1/2 cup of hard food during the day and usually pees once on his pad during the night. We also leave a small amount of food in his bowl, so he doesn’t go too long without food overnight but he rarely touches it.
A: From your description it sounds like he may be okay without your visit.  I usually like to check on the puppy once in the overnight until they are well adjusted to the new environment which is usually about a week.
