Training Tips

Take control of biting

May 27, 2017, 1:37 PM
Q: How do I get my puppy to stop biting?
A: Most of the time a simple "No" or diverting the action with a toy is not going to work, even though they are the most frequent response from many trainers. To curb the biting requires that the reprimand and corrective measure needs to be rememberable and undesirable to your puppy. An impactful thump on the nose coupled with a repeated stern voice or loud noise (some owners say even a burst from a small air horn) can work. You can also respond with faked crying to play on your puppy's emotion.
