February 12, 2021, 4:13 AM- Q: My puppy is 10 weeks old today but has only been with us for 4 days. When can I introduce new higher reward treats for training purposes? He is pooping 3x or more daily and peeing regularly.
- A: I am not sure what you mean by higher reward treats. There are hundreds of treats and for the most part the differences between them is insignificant. I like freeze dried liver or meats because they do not have added sodium, most treats are like common snack foods for people they are high in sodium. I would recommend using freeze dried meats that are produced in the United States. “Stewarts” is a brand that has been around a long time. Especially if you start with young puppies many times you can use carrots or green beans as a healthy snack.
