Q: Will shampoo hurt my puppys eyes?

A: Over the counter pet shampoos are not likely to damage your pets eyes. They can result in surface irritation to the eye that leads to excessive tearing or redness. Try to avoid getting shampoo very near the eyes. You can also put a drop or two of baby oil (light mineral oil) in the eyes before bathing or rinse your puppys eyes with a few sterile saline available in the contact lens sections at the store.
