Thirsty after surgery

March 19, 2018, 6:24 PM
Q: Had my 7 month puppy spayed and she is drinking a lot of water and urinating a lot. Normally she doesn't drink very much water but has been since she was spayed last week. Anyone else had this problem?
A: Increased water consumption and urine output would be fairly common in the first few days after general surgery. If it occurs longer than 3 days it might be a cause for concern or could be related to other medications used or status of your dog. It would be best if I could speak with you directly to figure this out.
