Q: I just took my Lhasa to my veterinarian to be spayed and her presurgical bloodwork indicated that her blood glucose was 140. What does this mean?
A: If she was fasted for 12 hours or so before the blood was drawn then a glucose of 140 is above the norm (90-125) but i wouldn't get alarmed. Simply repeat the glucose test with a known fast. Even a few crumbs that she found the morning of her test could lead to a value of 140.
