Anal glands full?

Q: Our dog has been scooting his bum on the ground 1 time yesterday and one time today. Is it a concern? If yes, Should we try to express his anal glands ourselves ( we watched a video ) or should we go to the vet.

A: Repeated scooting is usually related to the anal glands. If you watched the Doctorpup video on scooting and you are comfortable you can try emptying them at home. If that is effective the scooting should cease after 1 day.
