Bump on Tummy
December 30, 2017, 4:07 AM- Q: I just received my puppy today, and noticed a bump on her tummy. It's right below her diaphragm. It feels like a bone, but I know one shouldn't be sticking out right there. She's eating, drinking, peeing, and playing. I'm not sure if I should take her to the vet right away tomorrow, or what to do?
- A: If it is a hard “boney†bump and it is at the crease between left and right rib cages it is her xiphoid. This is a normal cartilage/bone prominence but it varies in size, shape and angle from puppy to puppy. It is not something to worry about at all.
