Hacking cough

- A: From your description it sounds as though the cough is infrequent. It can take 4-6 weeks for complete resolution of all symptoms. You can help speed her recovery by using a nebulizer or humidifier 2-3 times a day and also giving Guaifenesin Syrup 2-3 times a day.
