- A: It's not a great idea. Very small ones (less than 1/4") would likely pass through without obstruction but still could trigger some vomiting. Larger stones than that could end up stuck in either his stomach or intestine and necessitate surgery. Adding about 1/2 teaspoon psyllium powder to a meal daily may help move the smaller ones down the line.
